Catherine "Kitty" Theresa Lorden, 84, of 251 Sunbrook Lane, Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 15, 2012, at her home.

Born Wednesday, April 20, 1927 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Keavney and the late Mary A. Bourke Keavney.

She graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore, MD. She was very active, and shared many of her talents with St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Maria Goretti High School and St. Ann Catholic Church. She was a charter member of Tri State Catholic Golden Age. She loved the Summerland Community and participated in many of their activities. Kitty especially enjoyed spending time with her entire family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Harry Frederick Lorden, daughters, Mary G. Gilroy of Millsboro, DE, Jo Ann Elder & husband Robert of Ocean City, MD, and Theresa L. Caputy & husband Vincent of Vienna, VA, sons, Gregory H. Lorden & wife Kimberley of Littleton, CO, and Patrick K. Lorden & wife Franziska of Hunt Valley, MD, daughter in law, Sarah Lorden Maxwell of Wellesley, MA, sister, Mary Curtis of Punxsutawney, PA, twelve grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael T. Lorden, sisters, Eileen Magarelli, and Margaret Tillette, and brother, Thomas J. Keavney.

Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 11:00 am, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21742, with the Rev. Alfred Smith officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742 or St. Maria Goretti High School 1535 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
