Roberta Jean Robinson Jenkins Hunter, 79, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away, Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville, North Carolina.

Born Monday, July 28, 1930, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late David Lewis Robinson, Sr. and the late Myrtle Esther Robinson.

She was a 1946 graduate of North Street School. She was a member of Bethel AME Church in Hagerstown, MD, King's Apostle Holy Church in Hagerstown, MD and Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cary, NC.

She is survived by daughter, Billie Jean Jenkins Taylor and husband, Paul of Cary, NC; two grandsons, Thomas D. Horne, Jr., and Robert Marcus Horne.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Reid Jenkins; son, Henry Eugene Hunter; two sisters; two brothers; and two granddaughters, Kimberly Dawn Spottswood and Marirese Vinyette Spottswood.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 12:00 PM, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St. Hagerstown, MD, with Elder Darlene Cooper officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday, March 5.
