Patricia "Pat" Julia Bennet, 84 of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away Friday February 26, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born on February 9, 1926 in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter the late Charles and Jennifer Masullo.
Pat graduated from high school in Buffalo, NY in 1944. She moved to Queen's NY, where she married Savas "Steve" Pappas, Sr. on October 4, 1948. They had five children together, john Catherine, Stephanie, Steve, Jr. and Maria.
Pat moved to Hagerstown from New York in 1990 with her daughter Maria and Maria's three children. She married her second husband Robert Wayne Bennet on February 15, 2000 in Hagerstown, MD.
Pat was born and raised a Roman Catholic, but later in her life became a born again Christian.
She was born on a farm in upstate new York and learned the value of hard work, as she was a child of the great depression.
She was employed as a member of the Visiting Nurse Services of Greater New York, with her primary role being of mother and homemaker.
In her younger years Pat was an avid roller skater, wining many trophies and ribbons. She loved going to the movies and going to Radio City Music Hall. She also was an avid Elvis Presley fan from the very beginning of his career.
She is survived by her husband of ten years Robert Wayne Bennet, sons Johnny and Stevie and daughters, Catharine, Stephanie all of New York and daughter Maria of Hagerstown, MD.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jennifer, and brothers Phillip, Albert, Earnest and Victor Masullo.
Services will be held on Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 2:30 PM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Maryland.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Pat, a loving wife, mother and grandmother will be especially missed by her daughter Maria, and grandchildren Phil, Ritchie and Sandy. Our love for her will remain always.
