Beulah Irene Brown, 86, of 6596 Orphanage Road, Quincy PA, and formerly of Cavetown, MD passed away, Thursday, February 25, 2010, at the Quincy Village, Quincy, PA.
Born Friday, November 2, 1923, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Ellsworth Piper and the late Ettie (Myers) Piper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse D. Brown, Sr. in 1996.
She was employed with the Washington County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Garfield United Methodist Church and the Smithsburg Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene E. Kauffman of Shady Grove, PA, and Mary Ann Young of Boonsboro, MD; four sons, Jesse David Brown, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD, Richard Paul Brown of Valdosta, GA, Terry A. Brown of Huachuca, AZ, and Robert E. Brown of Smithsburg, MD; one sister, Florence Jones of Mt. Alto, PA; twenty four grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren, and also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters, and a son, John W. Brown and a great grandson Clarence "Eddie" Hull.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at the Garfield United Methodist Church 13628 Stottlemeyer Road, Smithsburg, Maryland with the Rev. Katie Bishop and the Rev. Randy Reed officiating.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 1.
Interment will be in the Garfield United Methodist Church Cemetery, Smithsburg, Maryland.
