"God’s angels come in many shapes and forms.
They’re here to help you navigate your storms.
Some are alive and visible to the human eye,
While others are simply there to be on standby.
Some are there just for you alone,
While others are there for everyone known.
Some are there for just a short time,
While others stick around for a lifetime.
Some come and go only when needed,
But often their advice is never heeded.
Some are strangers who come out of nowhere,
And some are people of whom you are aware.
Although my angel has always been on standby,
She could always be seen in my mind’s eye.
So when on my mind there is a major question,
I can always get a feel for her impression.
Guiding young people she did with compassion.
Now loving God and Jesus is her absolute passion.
The work of angels is extremely uncanny,
And that’s so true with the one we all call Jenny.
I'll miss you Jenny Rutledge, but as the poem says, you'll always be in my mind's eye. In both your personal and private life, you had a profound affect on people. I had the privilege of being one of many. Thank you for being my angel.

"Jane, Mike, Tom, Laura, Andrew and Matthew- You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your mother (and grandmother) was such a special lady. You could see the twinkle in her eyes and glow in her smile. She will remain firmly embedded in your hearts and forever a part of you spirits. May you feel surrounded by love during this sad time.

"Dear Janie and Annie,
Please accept my deepest condolences. I will miss Jenny. She was always a positive and pleasant supporter of PEO. As a child, I remember coming over to play at your big old house on Potomac Street; what fun. We were lucky to have such wonderful moms. I know you have many fond memories. Please know that I am thinking of all of you.
Love and blessings,

"When I became a Guidance Counselor in Washington County in 1967, Jeanette Byler later Rutlidge was already an icon at North Hagerstown High. She was always polite, kind, and understanding to sometimes people in difficult situations. She spoke with knowledge and compassion to generations of students who did well by knowing her."

"Ann and Jane, My sincerest sympathy goes out to you and your families. I feel very honored to have known your mother. Her cheerful presence at our P.E.O. meetings was a light for all of us. She will be sorely missed by everyone in the chapter.

"Dear cousin Janie and cousin Annie:
Words are inadequate to express my wonderful memories. Your mother, my mother (Laura Belle), aunt Helen, our grandparents (Kaylor), the two of you, and Hagerstown has gifted my life with such fond memories of warmth, happiness, and love. Other than my cousins, your mother's passing is my last physical touch with what has been such a meaningful part of my life. I have been blessed that these beautiful people have had such a glorious influence on my life. God bless all those who have physically departed us and God bless those who carry our past forward to our future generations. Love to all - cousin Jim"

"Ann,
So very sorry for the loss of your dear, "Mother Rutledge". I have not spoken with you in awhile & I just happened to see it in the paper after her funeral. I will never forget her beautiful disposition & her great sense of humor. We laughed so much & I was as glad to see her as she was me when you would bring her into the Real Estate office. She is an angel now with my dear husband, "Don". I am saddened to know I will not see her again til God call's me home, but I am happy for her that she will live life eternal. My thoughts & prayers to you & all your family. May God hold you in the palm of his hand. His strength & love abides within. My Deepest Sympathy, Robin"
