  • "Your son, Tyler, was very kind to me during a very stressful time. I was doing a good deed for someone when my purse was stolen from my car. I was upset with myself for stopping to help. Two weeks later I receive a face book message from Tyler, a complete stranger. He is contacting me to tell me that he found my purse and wanted to be sure that I got it back. He knew I would be concerned and wanted me to know that it was with him and that it was safe. Our plans to meet face to face didn't work out, but he did make arrangements to get my purse returned to me. As I was looking through my purse I came across a note from Tyler inside. He encouraged me to continue my efforts to see the good in people and to not allow one incident to ruin how I felt about others. So, it is with a heavy heart that I say, Thank you Tyler, for your encouagement, kindness and willingness to go the extra mile for a complete stranger. I will not forget you. May God bless your family. "

  • "My deepest condolences to the Shifler family. Tyler was always a pleasure to be around. It's been years since Tyler was a familiar face to me, but I would still randomly wonder how he was doing. I saw him weeks ago by chance, and Tyler still coaxed a smile from me. He was always good at doing that. Since I heard of Tyler's passing, his siblings have not left my thoughts. I know the pain of losing a brother, and I'm sorry you have to know it as well. Casey, I will be thinking of you and your family. I am so truly sorry for your loss."

  • "I would like to express my heart felt sorrow for your family. I had the pleasure of coaching Tyler his 8th grade year for the Chargers. I was instantly impressed by his athletic ability, as I spent more time around him I was equally impressed with his ability to lead. He always looked out for the younger players and kept our sidelines upbeat and focused. He was a person of great character and anyone who has had the pleasure of spending time with him is better for it. R.I.P Tyler"

  • "My deepest sympathy to the whole shifler family. I am totally shocked and devastated. Tyler affectionately know by his friends at Winter Street as T - Bone was one of the kindest kids that I have ever taught and one heck of an athlete. Tyler would always be there to help a student who was less skilled than he. He was a fun loving kid who loved to have fun and make jokes. He loved his brothers and his family. The world has lost a great person and I still cannot believe this horrible news. Rest in piece T- Bone. Mr. Hamburg"
